Welcome!
HELLO!!! My name is Chrissy Minnick. I am originally from Maryland (GO TERPS) where I first began teaching eight years ago. I am embarking on my fifth year of teaching fifth grade in the state of North Carolina. I am thrilled to be a part of the Baucom Elementary family. Thank you for visiting our classroom page where any and all information will be at your fingertips.
ExpectationsI am looking forward to an exciting year of learning. Through a team effort we can accomplish many goals. One of our goals is to prepare fifth grade students for the independence and responsibility of middle school. We will collaboratively set goals and work together toward achieving them. To accomplish bold goals, we have to have high expectations.
Here are a few Fifth Grade Expectations:
CommunicationCommunication and organization are vital to accomplishing our goals. Parents, please feel free to call me with any concerns (school phone 919-387-2168). You may also contact me by email ([email protected]).

HomeworkHomework will be assigned throughout the week and is expected to be completed and turned in on time. Students should utilize an agenda/planner to record homework assignments and project deadlines. Homework is used to practice skills that have been taught in class, to study for tests and quizzes, or to work on class projects. Homework will be taken for a participation grade, and will be reviewed during lessons. If you find that your child struggled with the homework skill, please let me know so that I can take time to go over the concept individually with your child.
